Peppy Pulse has launched a new crowdfunding campaign regarding Aura 5G, which is promoted as the smartest travel 5G WiFi hub in the world. The device is intended to be used by travellers, remote workers, and any other person who requires high-quality connectivity in different geographic areas; therefore, it was designed to integrate the best of mobile broadband with the sophisticated functionality features of a user.
Overall, Aura 5G is a portable MiFi (mobile WiFi) router that works with 5G and 4G bands worldwide. As a way of catering to various user needs, it comes in two variants: Aura Pro and Aura Ultra. Pro model comes in with WiFi 6, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage, whereas Ultra will have WiFi 7, 8GB RAM, 256GB storage, and a fingerprint reader.
Among the notable ones is the dual SIM smart switching: Aura can store either physical SIMs or deploy eSIMs, and automatically switch to the best available network without user intervention. This comes in handy, particularly when travelling to other borders or regions where the signal strength varies.
Aura 5G has a 6,000 mAh battery underneath, which supports 45 W fast charging and has a goal of providing long-life portability. It also has a touchscreen interface to configure and check status- no companion app required to have basic control. It is rather small (around 140 x 70 x 14 mm) physically and has a weight of about 300 g.
However, such ambitious hardware does not come cheap. The early supporter price begins with $399, going up to $699 based on model and package. At the time of writing, the Kickstarter campaign is already over its small funding goal of $8,000, having already raised over $81,000.
Of course, risks are always involved with any crowdfunding project. Failure to deliver, changes in hardware, or even a delay are not a trivial possibility.
