The AAEON PICO-ARU4 is a very compact but powerful single-board computer (SBC) built on the Pico-ITX form factor (100 mm × 72 mm). It’s designed for embedded and edge computing applications where space is tight but performance still matters.
At its heart, the board supports the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors (codenamed “Arrow Lake”). You can choose between the Ultra 5 225U or Ultra 7 255U models; both are low-power (15 W TDP) and deliver good modern processing and graphics capabilities. Memory is soldered LPDDR5 at up to 32 GB single-channel, which is impressive given the size of the board.

Connectivity and I/O are well-thought for an industrial embedded board. It has two network ports: a 2.5 GbE and a 1 GbE network port, which provide you with substantial network rates. Display wise it can support 4K (3840×2160) 30 Hz on HDMI 1.4 and eDP 1.4, two-port connection can be made possible. It also has 2USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, two internal USB 2.0 connectors, two RS-232/422/485 COM ports, SATA 6 Gb/s, full-sized M.2 2280 M-Key slot ( PCIe 4.0 x4 / SATA) and M.2 2230 E-Key slot: Wi-Fi, etc.
On the rugged/embedded side, the board offers TPM 2.0 security, a watchdog timer (255 levels), support for Wake-on-LAN, and is rated for a typical operating temperature of 0 °C to 60 °C (storage down to –40 °C) with non-condensing humidity up to 90 %. It’s also lightweight, about 0.08 kg.
What this means in real-world terms is that the PICO-ARU4 is a great fit for embedded AI/edge devices, industrial controllers, digital signage, medical portable devices, or any application where you need full PC-class compute in a very small footprint. As AAEON itself say, it’s built for “portable diagnostic imaging and outdoor roadside units” among other use cases.
The Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Windows 11, and Linux (such as Ubuntu and Yocto) are supported on the AACEON PICO-ARU4. This broad OS compatibility makes it ideal for embedded, AI, and industrial applications, allowing easy integration with open-source tools and customised software solutions.

At the time of writing, I couldn’t find a publicly listed retail price for the AAEON PICO‑ARU4 Pico-ITX SBC on the official site; you are asked to “Request a Quote” for order information. As for availability, the board is said to be in mass production and available via the vendor’s e-shop or authorised distributors worldwide.
