Elecrow has introduced the AI Starter Kit for Jetson Orin Nano, a comprehensive hardware and learning platform designed to transform NVIDIA’s powerful AI computer into an educational and prototyping system. The kit is designed to support students, educators, makers, and developers who are interested in having an accessible means of learning AI, robotics, and embedded system design with the help of a real-world AI-oriented environment.
In its simplest form, the kit is based on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano (not included module), which is a small but powerful AI supercomputer with the potential to execute complex neural networks, computer vision models, and robotics programs. The starter kit is entirely compatible with Jetson Orin Nano users who simply install their own board inside the enclosure in order to start experimenting.

The package brings everything together with a large 11.6-inch IPS touchscreen display, making it easier to interact with software, debug projects, and visualise AI outputs all in one place. Alongside the display, an 8MP camera mounted on a servo-controlled gimbal enables advanced vision projects — from object tracking to custom AI camera applications. A built-in voice interaction module allows users to explore speech-based AI and human-machine interfacing.
One of the standout features of this starter kit is its 30 common sensors and electronics modules. These include environmental sensors (like temperature, humidity, and gas detectors), motion and proximity sensors, input and output devices (buttons, lights, LEDs, stepper motors, servo motors), and communication interfaces. This broad selection gives makers the flexibility to explore many domains, smart sensing, motion control, interactive displays, robotics, and more, all powered through the Jetson platform’s GPIO and expansion ports.

To support learning, Elecrow provides a structured set of tutorials (around 38 lessons) written in Python. These cover basic sensor interaction, computer vision workflows, and foundational AI tasks, helping users move from beginner to more advanced topics without needing deep prior experience.
Priced at approximately $189 (excluding the Jetson board itself), this kit offers a plug-and-learn experience that blends hardware and software in one cohesive educational package. Whether you’re exploring AI for the first time or building more complex edge-AI prototypes, the Elecrow AI Starter Kit makes learning interactive and practical.
