The LILYGO T-Display Bar is an ESP32-S3 development board featuring a built-in 2.25-inch IPS full-color RGB LCD with a 76 x 284 resolution and capacitive touch support. It is powered by the ESP32-S3R8 WiSoC, which integrates 8MB of PSRAM, and is paired with 16MB of SPI flash. The board provides connectivity through Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and expansion options include two Qwiic connectors and a 30-pin header.

For power and programming, the T-Display Bar is equipped with a USB Type-C port, while a 3-pin connector allows the use of an optional single-cell Li-Ion battery. Additional features include a self-learning AI smart sensor and an IMU for personalized fitness tracking. These capabilities make the board well-suited for embedded systems, DIY projects, and industrial control applications.

We recently covered another LILYGO product, the T-Circle and T-Circle-S3, two compact ESP32-S3 boards with a touch display, microphone, and speaker. If you’re interested, feel free to check out this circular TFT display as well.

LILYGO T-Display Bar specifications:

The LILYGO T-Display Bar is powered by the Espressif ESP32-S3R8 SoC, integrating a dual-core Tensilica LX7 microcontroller running up to 240 MHz with vector instructions for AI acceleration. It comes with 512KB RAM, 8MB PSRAM, and 16MB SPI Flash (W25Q128), along with a MicroSD card socket for external storage. Wireless connectivity includes 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 4 with 40 MHz bandwidth, Bluetooth 5.0 LE with long-range and up to 2 Mbps data rate, and Bluetooth Mesh support.

The board features a 2.25-inch IPS capacitive touchscreen display (ST7789) with a 76 x 284 resolution, and integrates a BHI260AP AI smart sensor with a 6-axis IMU for motion and fitness applications. Expansion options include two Qwiic I2C connectors and a 30-pin 1.27mm header exposing GPIOs, I2C, UART, 3.3V, and GND. Additional components include BOOT, Sleep, and Reset buttons, plus a buzzer for user interaction.

For power, the board provides a USB Type-C port supporting 5V/500mA input for supply, charging, and programming, as well as a 1.25mm pitch 3-pin JST connector for single-cell Li-Ion batteries. It uses a BQ25896 I2C 3A buck battery charger with power path management and battery level indication. Power consumption ranges from 90–230 mA with Wi-Fi enabled to as low as 50 µA in Normal mode and 9 µA in Sleep mode. The board measures 69 x 23 x 15 mm, making it compact for embedded, IoT, and portable projects.
