At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Orbbec, a leading provider of robotics and AI vision solutions, introduced two advanced stereo 3D cameras, the Gemini 305 and Gemini 345Lg, designed to elevate robotic perception and performance across a range of applications. At the same time, the company announced full platform compatibility with NVIDIA’s Jetson Thor System-on-Module, reinforcing its commitment to high-performance visual computing for next-generation robotics.

Stereo 3D Vision Cameras Specifications

Gemini 305 is a miniature stereo 3D camera designed to be mounted on the wrists and hands of a robot, where size and packaging are extremely important. It is only 42 × 42 × 23 mm and has a weight of 65g, which allows it to take close images up to a range of 100 cm with a depth accuracy of less than a millimetre. Its expansive depth field of view of 88° × 65°, deep and comprehensive field of view and high resolution real colour output and depth output can fit well in tasks that are dynamic, like identifying objects, gripping them with utmost precision and manipulating them on the arm of a collaborative robot and humanoid welcoming robot. One of the important innovations of the Gemini 305 is that depth and colour resolutions are independently configured, a feature missing in traditional designs that required a common resolution where developers were able to tune the data performance of a particular workload.

Gemini 345Lg was designed for harsh environments, outdoor robotics with an IP67-rated enclosure and a wide operating temperature of –20 °C to 65 °C. It provides clients with wide vision clearance and a dual-mode visual field depth as far as 104° × 87°, as well as dependable, good-quality depth information even on sunny days or nights. Its ruggedised GMSL2 interfaces paired with long-range, high-reliability data transmission make it a perfect choice to run inspection robots, outdoor logistics operations, and other industrial tasks that need to be served with robust perception.

Software and application support

Orbbec also highlighted its dual manufacturing hub strategy spanning Shunde, China and a new facility in Vietnam, enhancing global supply-chain flexibility and supporting rapid deployment of these cutting-edge vision systems. The full Gemini series compatibility with NVIDIA Jetson Thor unlocks powerful edge-AI performance, enabling robotics developers to take full advantage of high-speed perception and inference on a unified hardware and software platform.

The Gemini 305 and Gemini 345Lg are compatible with the Orbbec cross-platform SDK, which has ready-to-use Linux and Windows drivers and APIs and has been optimised to integrate with ROS and ROS 2 to make deployment in robotics applications easier. The cameras deliver synchronisation of RGB, depth, and point-cloud data and also offer tools for calibration, depth tuning, and firmware updating. They can also be proven to be compatible with NVIDIA Jetson-based platforms, such as Jetson Thor, to author hardware-based vision pipelines and integrate well with CUDA-based high-level AI environments. This software stack allows developers to quickly integrate perception, grasping, navigation, and AI inference workflows without extensive customisation.

Price and Availability

Orbbec has not announced official pricing for the Gemini 305 and Gemini 345Lg yet, as both models are currently offered through inquiry-based OEM sales. The cameras are already listed on Orbbec’s website, indicating that pre-orders and evaluation requests are open, with commercial availability expected after CES 2026 and into early 2026, depending on order volume and configuration.
