Radxa has just unveiled its latest powerful credit-card-sized single-board computer (SBC), the Cubie A7A, which re-marks the company’s return to Allwinner silicon with a potent edge AI proposition. It is a high-performing option for AI, edge computing, and embedded applications.
Radxa Cubie A7A SBC specifications
Equipped with the Allwinner A733 SoC, the module features a hybrid octa-core CPU architecture, comprising two Arm Cortex-A76 cores that reach up to 2.0 GHz, six Cortex-A55 cores that reach up to 1.79 GHz, and a dedicated RISC-V E902 real-time core for ultra-low-power tasks and secure system control.
Imagination’s BXM-4-64 MC1 GPU handles graphics, and AI acceleration is available via an optional integrated NPU delivering up to 3 TOPS at INT8 precision. Video processing supports high-resolution workflows with hardware-accelerated decoding of up to 8Kp24 and encoding of 4 K X 30 fps, handled by the onboard VPU.
Memory options range from 2 GB to a substantial 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM at 4800 MT/s, complemented by versatile storage support including microSD, eMMC, UFS, and even NVMe modules. Connectivity is rich: dual-band Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, Gigabit Ethernet with optional PoE support; USB includes one USB 3.0 host port, three USB 2.0 host ports, and a USB 2.0 OTG Type-C interface.
Display and expansion capabilities are generous for an SBC of this size (85 × 56 mm): HDMI 2.0b, MIPI-DSI display, MIPI-CSI camera interface, a 40-pin GPIO header, and a PCIe Gen3 x1 FPC connector.
Software support appears promising, with Radxa offering a BSP based on Linux 5.15 and Tina SDK 1.4.6; mainstream operating system compatibility, Debian 11 images and mainline U-Boot are reportedly forthcoming.

The Radxa Cubie A7A is now available through online platforms such as AliExpress, with prices typically ranging from $30 to $66 depending on memory configuration. Early-bird buyers may access a $10 discount, bringing the cost as low as $25 plus shipping. Variations in price across retailers reflect memory options and promotional deals.
