Raspberry Pi 5 is the newest edition of the famous single-board computer (SBC), and a massively significant enhancement of other models. It has a core of a 64-bit quad-core Arm Cortex-A76 processor with a frequency of 2.4 GHz at the centre. That provides it with 2–3 times the processing power of its predecessor.

It has a VideoCore VII CPU on the graphics side that allows smooth video playback and graphics rendering. It also supports two 4Kp60 HDMI outputs (with HDR), thus it is applicable even in desktop computing, media centres or high-resolution displays. The available memory is wide: Two board options will offer LPDDR4X-4267 RAM, having options between 1 GB and 16 GB, and thus you can select one based on the amount of performance you require.

It is also enhanced in terms of connectivity and expandability. Raspberry Pi 5 has 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, two USB ports (2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0), a micro-SD card, Gigabit Ethernet (with optional PoE+ option, through add-on) and basic 40-pin GPIO. In addition, it has a PCIe 2.0 x1 port installation – therefore, you can add other high-speed devices, such as NVMe SSDs with an appropriate adaptor. It now has an inbuilt real-time clock (RTC), a power switch, and a UART debug port, minor changes that will appeal to makers, developers and hobbyists. It is also used in the microSD-Express Pi Adapter and the CM5 carrier board.

Raspberry Pi 5 SBC

Raspberry Pi 5 is a machine running a new Raspberry Pi OS optimised to its faster hardware with much smoother graphics, faster applications, and more agile development tools, cameras, and screens. It is steady, up to date and prepared to undertake projects or day-to-day usage. You can refer to the product page to get all details.

As of now, the Raspberry Pi 5 SBC can be found in large retailers, such as the Raspberry Pi Amazon US store and Aliexpress, starting from $68.63 to $157.46. Its price differs according to the RAM, as the cheaper models, those with 8GB RAM, will be priced at ₹11,787 on the Amazon India store, and the more advanced models are priced higher, depending on the seller. Stocks usually do not fluctuate much, and in the majority of cases, online stores maintain inventory.
