The SpecFive Strike Handheld Linux Workstation Specifications:

SpecFive Strike Linux Workstation is powered by custom carrier board that is based on Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, providing it with a strong Linux application platform. It combines a 4.3 inch touchscreen and full QWERTY keyboard which makes it easier to interact with the screen as well as control it physically in the field. Its handheld nature makes it convenient in development, diagnostics or communication activities where mobility is important.

SpecFive Strike – Base Edition Specifications

In the Strike, networking is a pivotal factor. It includes a LoRa module, an SX1262, that uses 915 MHz frequency with long range, low power mesh networking including Meshtastic and ATAK platforms. The workstation, in addition to supporting the technology of LoRa, also supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to allow local wireless connectivity. The capabilities provided to users by the use of GPIO, I2C, and SPI are enhanced with the help of standard ports such as USB 2.0, dedicated charging port, and audio jack of 3.5 mm.

For portability, the Strike houses a 5,000 mAh rechargeable battery, which typically lasts between three to six hours depending on workload. Its enclosure, made from PETG, measures about 120 x 150 x 25 mm and weighs roughly 390 g, striking a balance between ruggedness and compactness. Buyers can choose between the Base Edition, which ships without an SD card for custom setup, and the Ready Edition, which includes a 32 GB card preloaded with Raspberry Pi OS and Meshtastic for immediate use.

SpecFive Strike – Ready Edition Edition Specifications

Strike supports a variety of software stacks. In Ready Edition, it comes preloaded with Raspberry Pi OS plus Meshtastic, letting you power up and immediately use its mesh networking features. The Base Edition gives you full freedom: install RetroPie for retro gaming, emteria.OS for Android-style interface, or any custom Linux build. Mesh workflows via Meshtastic and ATAK enable off-grid message passing and situational awareness. Users can also script, code, and run diagnostics with usual open-source toolchains thanks to the CM4 platform.

The SpecFive Strike Linux Workstation is available directly from SpecFive’s online store. The Base Edition, priced at US$379.99, comes fully assembled but without an SD card, giving users freedom to configure their own software environment. For those who prefer a plug-and-play setup, the Ready Edition is offered at US$409.98 and includes a 32 GB SD card preloaded with Raspberry Pi OS and Meshtastic. Buyers can also choose from several color options, including Black, Desert Sand, Grey, Green, and Tactical Green. More details available on the press release.
